Pope Francis celebrated Mass Friday evening with about 20,000 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and that included the chaplain and three students from Nazareth College.
Chaplain Jamie Fazio says they got the four tickets from the Rochester Catholic Diocese, and he says they were all beyond thrilled to find out they would be going.
Fazio says this pope has really made a personal connection with a lot of people.
"His message is genuine and universal , he's a pastor first, he listens, he is attentive to the people that are right in front of him and he's also in tune with the needs of our world that are universal."
Fazio says this pope has really made a close connection with a lot of young people. Fazio says when the students get back to Nazareth this weekend they will continue to follow the pope's visit.
"On Sunday at Mass we're having a pope party to watch the papal mass in Philadelphia, and we're going to start discussing his encyclical on the environment as a group."
Fazio says Pope Francis has gotten a lot of students excited about what he had to say, not only Catholics, but those of other denominations as well.
