The Monroe County Department of Public Health is investigating several cases of COVID-19 connected to a Spencerport church.
Health officials are urging anyone who attended Morning Service at the Slavic Pentecostal Church, 4925 W. Ridge Road, on Sunday, Aug. 23, to contact the health department by calling (585) 753-5555 or emailing: COVID19@monroecounty.gov.
Officials said these individuals should also self-quarantine immediately through Sunday, Sept. 6, and get tested for COVID-19.
Five individuals from different households who attended that service have tested positive for the virus.
Anyone who was at the service should be alert for symptoms of COVID-19, including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
Health officials said these symptoms may occur two to 14 days after contact with an infected individual. If any of these symptoms appear, individuals should consult with their primary care provider.
