When we talk about hunger, we tend to think of children or young families in poverty. But this past October, the Monroe County Office for Aging held a listening session with more than 120 people who work with the aging population.
As a result, they're launching a new effort to train workers to recognize signs that someone is "food insecure." What exactly does that mean, and how to recognize it?
Guests are:
Jennifer McDermott, Catholic Family Center's Department Director for Aging and Adult Services
Bill Armbruster, Associate State Director of AARP
Sue Segelman, Nutrition Outreach and Education Program coordinatorTerra Keller, Director of Community Relations at Foodlink
