Spectrum says that its services have now been restored after a major outage that mainly affected cable TV customers on Saturday, but also affected some internet services.
The outage, which happened just after noon, included parts of Upstate New York, Maine and New Hampshire.
Spectrum spokesperson Lara Pritchard told WXXI News that the issue was related to damaged fiber in its network. She said that winter storms damaged the company's network redundancy on Friday, and with the storm damage in some areas, it made it difficult to access the equipment that had to be repaired.
At around 5pm, Pritchard said that service had been restored.
There was also a problem with the over-the-air signal of WXXI-TV on Saturday afternoon, which was apparently related to the Spectrum outage. That over-the-air signal has also been restored now.
