A manufacturer located in Honeoye Falls will be closing this year, affecting about 45 workers. Branson Ultrasonics is closing its plant there by September.
According to Dave Baldridge, a spokesman for Branson’s corporate parent, Emerson Electric, the decision affects a combination of hourly and salaried workers.
The Honeoye Falls plant welds plastics using lasers, vibration technologies and hot plate tooling.
Baldridge says the decision is not a reflection of the quality of work by the employees there, who he says have served the company and its customers well. He says the plant closure was necessary to better align operations to serve the company’s customers in a competitive market.
