A Livingston County company that specializes in organic and natural nut butters has just expanded in the Town of Nunda.
Once Again Nut Butter has officially opened a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. Officials say the $13 million dollar project will result in the creation of 15 new jobs and help retain 67 others.
The company's general manager Bob Gelser says the expansion will allow the separation of peanuts from the remainder of the manufacturing process which will address any concerns about customers of their other products who are allergic to peanuts.
Livingston County officials estimate the impact of the project to the state and region is more than $4.6 million in sales, income and property taxes and it represents the most economic growth in Nunda in at least 10 years.
Empire State Development provided $300,000 toward the expansion; New York State Energy Research and Development also provided incentives and Livingston County's Industrial Development Agency also offered tax incentives.
