Bringing Art to Rochester Neighborhoods

Alex Crichton

  The city of Rochester, in cooperation with the Multi-Use Cultural Community Center, or MuCCC, is announcing a new initiative to bring the performing arts to areas beyond the Center City.

"Art/Life" is dance, theatre, storytelling, wildlife exhibits, and much more, according to Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, who came up with the idea to bring family friendly "pop-up" performing arts experiences to neighborhood parks and playgrounds.

The performances take place in July and August.

The first takes place tomorrow afternoon at 2 at Edgerton Park with storytelling by Reenah Golden, Delores Radney and Reuben Tap.

Here's the remaining schedule:

. Tuesday, July 22, 7 p.m. - Mounafanyi West African Dance (Merriman/University Park Playground);
