The artisans, entertainers and grounds are ready, yet, the nearby Sterling Renaissance Festival may not open next month.
As the wenches might say in the courtyard, put down ye olde turkey leg.
A statement on the festival website says there's not enough money to open July 5th. It blames a change in bank regulations. A private lender that helped last year can't do it this year.
So, the Festival hopes fans can donate 300-thousand dollars through an online campaign to pay for startup advertising, inventory and licensing.
The statement says the Festival's long-term future is good.
The Renaissance Festival is part of Empire Amusements which operates other attractions such as Sylvan Beach Amusement Park and Santa's Workshop.
