Coming up on Connections: Tuesday, April 17

First hour: Former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner

Second hour: Special rebroadcast - Black Panther as a cultural touchstone

Former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner says she’s considering a run for governor. The Democrat has never shied away from challenging her own party, including incumbent governor Andrew Cuomo. We’ll talk to her about why she is leaning toward a gubernatorial campaign, and which issues matter most to her.

Then in our second hour, a special rebroadcast of our discussion about the film, Black Panther. In addition to the film being a box office smash, it has also become a cultural touchstone. Our panel discusses the movie, its themes, and its impact on our society. Our guests:

  • Melanie Funchess, director of community engagement for the Mental Health Association of Rochester
  • Willis Brooks, PR rep at Entercom, and actor
  • Leslie Youngblood, author of Love Like Sky
  • Mona Isler, executive assistant and staff liaison to the board at WXXI, and comedy improviser
