AMBER Alert canceled for child missing from Genesee County; She was found unharmed

UPDATE: On Thursday night, Genesee County deputies say that the Amber Alert for Kamerie Elliott has been canceled. They say that Elliott and Guillermo Torres-Acevedo were together when located by the Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield, PA. Kamerie was unharmed and is being taken back to Genesee County. Guillermo Torres-Acevedo was taken into custody on warrants from New York State and will be held in Pennsylvania pending extradition proceedings. Officials say additional charges are pending.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Department has issued an AMBER Alert in connection with a child abduction. Deputies say it happened in Byron, on West Bergen Road at about 8am on Thursday.

They describe the child, Kamerie Elliott, as a white female, about 14 years old with brown hair and hazel eyes. Her hair is currently a blue color. Elliott is about 4-feet, 11 inches and weighs about 140 pounds.

The suspect, Guillermo Torres-Acevedo, is described as an Hispanic male, about 22 years old with black hair and brown eyes. He is about 5-feet-6, and weighs around 180 pounds.

Authorities say the child was taken under circumstances that lead them to believe that Elliott is in imminent danger.

Deputies say they are looking for a Blue SUV Dodge Journey with NY License plate number  HHP5458.

The vehicle was last seen traveling north on West Bergen Road.

Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department at 1-866-NYS-AMBER (1-866-697-2623 ) or dial 911 to provide information on a report or sighting.
