Wind storm brush pickup information

WXXI News contacted the City of Rochester, and other towns and villages across Monroe County for their plans on brush pickup. Here are their responses as of Friday, March 10. For specific information, call your department of public works.

Rochester
-    Out with chipper trucks
-    Going through the city and taking care of any of the storm of damage

TOWNS
Brighton

-   Will begin picking up storm debris Saturday. Please leave debris on grass; not in street.

Chili
-    Extra crews are out
-    Pickup on weekly basis reinforced with brush pickup crew

Clarkson- no info

East Rochester
-    Doing additional pick up
-    Crews going through the town every day for brush

Gates
-    Picking up trees left that are 6 feet long
-    Residents must cut up trees to regulation measurements
-    Stumps will be pulled at a later date

Greece-no info

Hamlin
-    Establishing more brush pick up for the storm
-    Concentrating on getting roads re-opened

Henrietta- no info

Irondequoit

-    Will be picking up brush that is placed at the curb. Crews will be going street by street, but no set timeline yet.

Mendon
-    Discuss further solutions due to storm but area was not hard it
-    Usually start brush pick the first of May
-    Working to restore the power to few hundred without power
-    Opened community center so that the people can charge their devices and use the kitchen

Ogden
-    Additional brush pickup has commenced
-    Cruisers have been working around the clock
-    They usually have a regularly scheduled brush pick up but have put the schedule aside because of the storm
-    They are picking up trees and limbs and their first priority is to keep the roads clear

Parma
-    Going around the town to pick up brush
-    They are making two or three trips around the town to be clear  

Penfield
-    Have been doing brush pickup
-    They are picking up brush until it is all picked up

Perinton
-    Doing brush pick up and clearing roads starting Monday

Pittsford- no info

Riga- no info

Rush
-    They have town line brush pick up the last week of April and the last week of May
-    They have made pick up earlier
-    There is street damage that they are working on currently and the weather this weekend is going to be bad so they are also preparing for that
-    They have already started pick up

Sweden
-    The town will be coming around to pick up brush, but haven’t started yet
-    Still clearing up roads

VILLAGES
Brockport

-    Starting brush pickup next week
-    Residents must cut their limbs up to 6ft in order to meet regulation for pickup
-    They have been picking up random pieces and clearing curbs

Churchville
-    Focusing on power recovery
-    Removing hazards from residential areas and roads
-    Cruisers are working on brush collection

Fairport-no info

Hilton
-    Will start brush pickup on Monday

Honeoye Falls- no info

Scottsville
-    They are cleaning up mess
-    They are still out on some parts of the town but have started back on their regular brush clearing schedule

Spencerport
-    They will be clearing brush for the next week
-    As of now their roads are clear
-    However a lot of the residents have not cleaned up their yards
