A freight train derailed in the Town of Wheatland Monday night. It happened near Wheatland Center Road.
Deputies say that 20 box cars containing road salt spilled their contents in the area. There were no injuries.
The clean-up was expected to continue through the night and early morning on Tuesday. The crossing at Wheatland Center Road was blocked during that process.
The cause of the derailment is still being investigated.
