The third annual F.I.R.E. Festival will take place Sunday afternoon at the Center for the Arts of Homer. Organized by Syracuse singer-songwriter Jess Novak, the festival takes its name from an acronym, standing for “Females. Inspire. Rock. Empower.” And it’s taking place in March as part of an ongoing celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.

Marking 50 years of honing their pioneering fusion of jazz, funk, and rock, the Headhunters will bring their anniversary tour to Deep Dive on Thursday night. The band’s last visit to Ithaca was in 2010 when it performed at Castaways – the same venue space that Deep Dive currently occupies.
