A Wayne County manufacturer is expanding and adding jobs. Pearl Technologies, whose work includes building standard and custom high-speed machine attachments for punching holes, perforating and other tasks, along with products for the plastics industry, is adding up to 20 jobs at its operations in the Town of Savannah.

The nearly $2 million project will facilitate the production of industrial knives, replacing manufacturing that is now being outsourced overseas. Pearl is a subsidiary of EDGE Industrial Technologies which has offices in Kentucky.

Empire State Development is helping the expansion project with up to $200,000 in Excelsior Tax Credits in exchange for job creation commitments. Besides the 20 additional jobs, officials say Pearl Technologies will be able to retain more than 40 other positions.

The renovations are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022. Wayne County Industrial Development is also working with the company.
