RIT sued for sexual harassment by former employee

A former RIT employee is suing the school, saying she was sexually harassed by her boss.

Spectrum News reports that Lisa Ireland, a former fundraiser for RIT, claims her former boss, Kim Slusser, made repeated sexual comments about Ireland’s body and also made comments about her husband. Slusser was Associate Vice President in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

Ireland’s suit also claims that Slusser groped Ireland’s husband at an RIT sponsored event, and Ireland was demoted when she took the matter to the State’s Division of Human Rights after the school’s Human Resource department failed to take action. Ireland was allegedly told by someone from the HR department to “just get back to normal.”

RIT says they can’t comment on pending litigation.
