RIT looks to move courses online and other alternatives

The Rochester Institute of Technology is announcing a number of steps to try and mitigate the potential spread of the novel coronavirus including preparing to move courses to “alternative delivery,” such as online and course redesign.

RIT President David Munson announced a number of steps on Wednesday night including:

-Extending Spring Break through Sunday, March 22. No classes will be held but the campus will be open.

-Starting March 23, all academic instruction will take place via alternative methods until further notice.

-No new nonessential gatherings and meetings on campus will be scheduled.

Munson says that all residence halls will remain open and students may choose to stay at their permanent place of residence or their on/off-campus residence.
