New Spectrum stores to open locally; one will move to College Town

Charter Communications/Spectrum

Spectrum will be opening nine new stores across upstate New York in the next few months, including three in the Rochester area.

Those three new stores include one that will be located in College Town, which is further down Mt. Hope Avenue, near the University of Rochester.

That will mean the longtime retail location at 71 Mount Hope will eventually close. Officials say that the retail Spectrum location which is there now will close by mid-June, moving to 1393 Mount Hope in College Town.

Other Spectrum facilities, such as news or technical operations, will remain at 71 Mount Hope.

A Spectrum executive says that the new stores provide an updated design and enhancements for showcasing innovative services, including its new Spectrum Mobile product, which the company has been marketing in recent months.

Other new local Spectrum stores will be  at 429 Commerce Drive in Victor and 720 Jefferson Road in Henrietta.
