Fairport School District officials say that they have been notified by a staff member who works at Fairport High School that this individual has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic.
In a letter to the community posted on the school district's website, officials say that the staff member was in the building during both staff onboarding days this past week. Officials say that person had minimal contact with other staff members; we believe this individual was following all recommended precautions when in the building.
Fairport school officials say that they are awaiting more information from the Monroe County Department of Public Health regarding contact tracing. At this time, based on the information shared by the employee, officials say that they do not believe anyone at the high school had an exposure to the staff member.
