Computer problem temporarily closes Henrietta DMV office

A problem with some computer equipment will shut down the DMV office in Henrietta on Tuesday.

That’s according to the Monroe County Clerk’s office, which says that a hardware failure involving a network switch is currently preventing all DMV transactions from being processed at the Henrietta office.

The replacement device is expected to be installed and tested on Tuesday afternoon by New York state information technology staffers.

County officials expect the Henrietta DMV to be operating normally in time for its 8:30 a.m. opening on Wednesday.

In the meantime, most of the county workers at the Henrietta office have been sent to other DMV branches to help with the expected increase in customers.

That includes the Irondequoit, Greece and City of Rochester branches which are all operating normally.

The Greece DMV is located inside the Mall at Greece Ridge; Irondequoit is at 545 Titus Ave., and in the city, it's located at 200 E. Main Street.
