If you are a Charter Spectrum cable TV customer, you may be facing some price increases in your next monthly bill.
The rate increases include a $1.54 a month increase in the Broadcast TV Surcharge, which Spectrum said reflects the costs incurred from local broadcast TV stations. It’s the second increase in less than a year. InJuly, that charge went up $2.95 a month to $16.45, and now it will cost $17.99 a month.
Other fee increases include the Spectrum receiver rental, which will increase by $1 a month to $8.99.
Spectrum Voice, the company's home phone product, will increase by $3 a month for some customers. Some will also see the cost of some cable TV packages rise as well.
The discount for a bundle of products will be smaller for some customers.
Charter Spectrum spokesperson Lara Pritchard released a statement saying, “TV programmers annually raise fees to carry their content, driving higher costs across the entire industry. As a direct result of the growing cost of programming from the TV networks we carry, we are passing through these increased fees to viewers.”
There is no change for Spectrum Internet customers or Internet customers who subscribe to Spectrum TV Stream, Choice or Essentials.
Pritchard cautions that price changes vary, depending on the package and services for each Spectrum customer. For new customers who are paying a promotional price for their Spectrum plan, the regular plan price does not take effect until the end of the promotional period.
