City Council President Loretta Scott and Councilwoman Carolee Conklin unveil the plaque outside the newly-dubbed Susan B. Anthony Room.

On the 110th anniversary of Susan B. Anthony's funeral, the women of Rochester's City Council reflected on Anthony's words about her own death.

Remember that I want there should be no tears. Pass on, and go on with the work.

They also remembered the legendary suffragette another way, by dedicating a room in city hall to her.

The room is Councilwoman Carolee Conklin's office, where two portraits of Anthony hang.

"Her gaze over my shoulder reminds me that many women have come before me and that I must continue to be a steward and go on with their work."

City Council President Loretta Scott says she thinks Rochester is living up to Anthony's legacy.

"Miss Anthony would be so pleased to see the number of women participating. Locally, the city council is comprised of a majority of women. Yes, we rule. We rock."

The room, located behind City Council Chambers, contains one painting and one photograph of Anthony. It is marked with a plaque with another famous quote of hers, "Failure is impossible."
