The Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester has announced that the Stars & Stripes Flag store on South Avenue is closing on Friday.

The store will continue to sell flags and merchandise via their website at www.eflagstore.com.

“Closing the brick and mortar location of Flag Store was not an easy decision to make,” Veterans Outreach Center Executive Director and U.S. Army Veteran Laura Stradley said. “COVID-19 has presented many challenges for a lot of local businesses, and after careful assessment it no longer made financial sense for us to operate a physical location of the Flag Store.”

Stradley said that there is opportunity for growth in e-commerce, and the VOC will continue to look for new and innovative wayis to do business.

The Stars & Stripes Flag Store sells flags, apparel, and merchandise related to veterans and first responders. All of the sales directly benefit services for local veterans.

The Veterans Outreach Center has been serving veterans since 1973. It offers employment counseling, vocational training and housing for homeless veterans.
