RPD Investigating Two Homicides

Rochester Police investigators are busy looking into two homicides that happened in separate incidents Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Authorities say the first incident was reported just before 7:00 p.m. on Friday. They say that Rural Metro Ambulance was flagged down by a small group of people near Genesee St. and Frost Ave. who told them there was  a man down in the rear parking lot of Mojoe's restaurant. The man who died is now identified as 28 year old Christopher Edmonds of the city had a gunshot wound to the upper body. There's no word of any arrests yet.

Then, at about 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a house on Sobieski St.for a report of a stabbing. They found 19 year old Hermes Almodovar  with a stab wound to the stomach. He told officers the stabbing happened nearby on Kosciusko St.  Soon after that, police got a second call for a stabbing near Kosciusko and North Streets. Officers located a victim at 1141 North Street, 32 year old Lee Probst,  suffering from multiple stab wounds. Probst  was taken to Rochester General Hospital but did not survive.  Almodovar was taken to Strong with a non-life threatening wound.

Both victims are city residents and police say it appears both of them were at the North Street address when an argument escalated into a physical fight and both victims were stabbed.

Police say it was reported a suspect fled from the scene and they are still investigating.
