The bitter, Arctic air continues to pour into the Rochester area on Wednesday, with the high temperature again not expected to rise out of the single numbers. There is a wind chill advisory until 11:00 a.m., with wind chills as low as -15 at times.
We are not seeing the kind of snow they expect in the New York City area, with more than a foot of accumulation expected there and in other Northeastern cities, but the ripple effect has hit the Greater Rochester International Airport, with a number of flights delayed or canceled.
The forecast for 5 inches or more of snow today in the Washington, D.C., area has led to the shutdown of federal offices in the nation's capital. Schools are closed in cities and towns across the affected areas.

The Rochester area forecast calls for some light snow through tomorrow, with temperatures getting up to the low teens by Thursday. The temps will moderate by the weekend, but another shot of frigid air is expected to hit us early next week.
If it makes you feel any better, the temperature (not even the wind chill, the actual air temperature) early Wednesday morning in Watertown was 34 below zero, a record for that city on this date.
