Rain, Snow, Wind Headed for Rochester Area

The National Weather Service predicts hazardous weather will hit Rochester and much of Western New York Tuesday night and through Wednesday.

The service’s hazardous weather prediction includes rain Tuesday night changing over to snow with an accumulation of one to three inches. Temperatures are expected to drop dramatically causing local roads to become slick.

The quick freeze will make wet and slushy areas treacherous as they turn icy early Wednesday. The winds will also significantly increase Wednesday. Northeast winds will increase to 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts around 40 miles per hour. Winds will be even stronger along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
