Governor Cuomo says 86 faith-based leaders from across the state, including some from the Rochester area, have joined his push to raise the minimum wage.
Cuomo says the religious leaders join more than 80 business officials from around the state in support of the proposal, which increases the minimum wage from the current $8.75 to $10.50 statewide and $11.50 in New York City.
The local religious leaders signing onto the campaign include:
-Reverend Franklin Ross, Peace Baptist Church
-Rev. Alan Newton, Executive Minister of American Baptist Churches of the Rochester-Genesee Region.
-Rev. Steve Grez, Senior Pastor, Greece Baptist Church
