Mayor Lovely Warren is holding a youth forum Thursday afternoon on Rochester’s education system.
It's part of her series of community-input sessions in response to New York State’s Distinguished Educator’s report.
Alex Yudelson, chief of staff for the city, says it’s important to let kids have a seat at the table when it comes to their education.
"The purpose is just to hear what they think should happen with the schools. Obviously they would be the most directly impacted by any changes that the community goes through, and so we want to hear directly from them, and hear their thoughts."
He says the mayor has already held two of these sessions with parents and one with community members, with over 200 people showing up to voice opinions.
The youth forum will be held at the Danforth Community Center on West Avenue at 2 p.m. Dec. 27.
