Rochester School Board re-elects leadership

The Rochester School Board has re-elected its top leaders.

At the board’s organizational meeting on Tuesday night, the board unanimously re-elected Van White as board president and Cynthia Elliott as vice president for a third consecutive year.

A statement from the school board says the unanimous vote to keep the current leadership reflects an emphasis on continuity and support for key initiatives.

Van White says with the appointments of Barbara Deane-Williams as district superintendent, and Shaun Nelms at Superintendent of East High School, the board has put in place a solid foundation for turning around the district.
