Members of the Rochester City School Board’s Excellence in Student Achievement Committee met Monday night to go over a new improvement plan for the district. The plan is required by the State Education Department after Rochester was identified as a "focus" district this fall. That means it has some of the lowest levels of Math and ELA scores in the state. But some school board members aren't convinced the required plan will have an impact. WXXI's Hélène Biandudi explains.
