Wade's Market To Reopen In Macedon; Eventually Add 2 More Stores

Wade's Market, which is going to have to leave its Farmington location, has announced plans to open a store in Macedon, and eventually add two more stores in the area.

In June, it was announced that Wade's , which has been in its current spot for 47 years, will have to close the store by the end of October. The family owned business said its landlord decided to sell the property .

Tops plans to put a store at that Route 96 location in November. The Cheney family, which operated Wade's, is leasing space at the former P and C supermarket site in Macedon. They hope to be open by November.

The Cheneys also say they are working to open up two additional Wade's markets in Ontario County over the next year. They say they hope to bring some of their current employees to their new store in Macedon.

Tops officials previously said they will offer employment opportunities to the 150 current employees at Wade's market.
