The Lyons Central School District has extended the amount of time it will continue to do virtual learning.
The district had announced recently that it was going to move to online learning until October 13 after a faculty member tested positive for COVID-19.
On Tuesday, Lyons school officials said they have learned an additional staff member tested positive for the virus, and it’s now anticipated that district will continue to follow a virtual learning model until October 30.
The district also says that all Lyons staff members have been directed by the Wayne County Department of Health to quarantine, as a mitigation effort and to prevent the potential community spread of the virus.
The Health Department is also requiring a COVID test for all staff members.
