Officials from Monroe County, Frontier Communications and the Rochester Red Wings have announced that Frontier has retained the naming rights to the home of the Red Wings for another 10 years.
Under the package deal, free Wi-Fi access is coming to the ballpark in 2016, according to Bill Carpenter, Area General Manager for Frontier's Rochester East Operations.
"To have the Frontier name on this stadium I think is part of the heritage of the stadium, and I think bringing Wi-Fi is a very important experience"
Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason says Wi-Fi is something fans, players, media, scouts and other baseball executives have been clamoring for.
Carpenter says the naming rights and Wi-Fi are included in a 10 year deal at about $275-thousand dolllars per year.
County Executive Maggie Brooks says the county is proud to leverage an important relationship with Frontier Communications to improve the baseball stadium and enhance its reputation as a top notch venue.
