There’s something new at the Waterloo Premium Outlets Center on Route 318 in the Town of Junius.
A new office for the Seneca County Sheriff.
Sheriff Jack Stenberg says his officers are called to the plaza more than 380-times a year. They answer calls for shoplifting, medical emergencies, accidents or alarms.
The new office should save some time and resources. "Oftentimes, we would have to take witnesses or shoplifting suspects back to our north office in Waterloo or the Law Enforcement Center in Romulus for interviews or processing," Sheriff Jack Stenberg said.
Outlet general manager Nick Griffin says 3.5 million people visit every year, and he’s happy to have deputies on site. "We appreciate our partnership with the sheriff's office and look forward to continuing to provide a safe and secure shopping environment — utilizing this new office — for visitors to Seneca County for many years to come," he said.
