Wegmans LPGA Championship Leaving Rochester After This Year

Wegmans LPGA

This summer will be final time Rochester will host the Wegmans LPGA Championship, as the tournament will move to the New York City area in 2015, according to reports from theDemocrat and Chronicle.

The official announcement will come at a press conference tomorrow.

This year's tournament was moved from Locust Hill Country Club -- which hosted the tourament for 37 years -- to Monroe Golf Club.

The LPGA plans to rotate various NYC-area golf courses as hosts for the tournament, and hopes that the new location can secure more revenue than hosting in Rochester. KPMG is expected to be the new title sponsor of the tourament when it moves next year.
