Village Of Macedon Votes To Dissolve

Residents of the Village of Macedon have voted to dissolve the village.  The vote on Wednesday to dissolve was 300 in favor and 246 against.

Mayor Marie Cramer says that the village will now form a committee and begin on working with a plan on how to proceed. Cramer says while all the administrative work is being done, she hopes that people remember that the village is open for business.

Residents who favored dissolving the village have talked about high taxes and services they feel could be consolidated between the village and the town of Macedon.

Two previous votes on whether the village should be dissolved did not approve merging with the town.
