Richard Aab Makes $3 Million Committment To Golisano Children's Hospital

Richard (Rick) Aab, who is a University of Rochester trustee, has made a $3 million commitment to the Golisano Children's Hospital Building Fund. That brings his total support for The Meliora Challenge, the university's comprehensive campaign, to $7 million.

Aab's commitment to the building fund is an expression of his friendship with Tansukh Ganatra and the Ganatra family. Aab and Ganatra co-founded US LEC, a telecom company based in North Carolina as well as several other telecom's during the last 30 years. UR will name the atrium in the new Golisano Children's Hospital the Ganatra Family Atrium.

The new Golisano Children's Hospital will be dedicated on May 27th and will open on July 14th.  The hospital provides care for more than 74,000 patients and their families each year.

The new facility includes state of the art patient care technology and space for parents who want to comfortably spend the night in their child's room. Other features include a pediatric imaging suite and "sibling rooms" that enable children from the same family to be cared for in one space.
