Positive cases of COVID-19 in Monroe County are down from last week, but the area is still listed as having a high transmission rate, according to the county’s Public Health Department.
County officials reported 136 new cases of the virus on Monday, with a total of 1,330 new cases reported over the past week. However, that’s a roughly 10% decrease from last week’s numbers.
The average positivity rate is also down, from 4.4 % last week to 4.0% for the past seven days.
The county reported nine new deaths, which occured between October 10-18. That brings the total to 1,435 people lost to the coronavirus pandemic to date.
The number of people hospitalized in the Finger Lakes Region is 247.
