Rochester Airport renovations mean detours for passengers

monroecounty.gov

Starting Friday, April 13, a temporary road closure means traffic changes for anyone dropping passengers off at the Greater Rochester International Airport.

The Upper Level Roadway that passes in front of the airport terminal is closed while a new canopy is being installed at the terminal entrance.

That closure will be in effect through October 2018.

Detour signs are posted as you enter the airport from Brooks Avenue. The signs direct traffic to the Lower Level Arrivals Roadway for departing passengers.

There are elevators and escalators that will take passengers to the ticketing lobby. Skycap attendants will be available for people who need wheelchair assistance.

Passengers who park in the long term ramp will be able to get to the lobby on the elevated walkway.

County officials recommend that passengers get to the airport at least 90 minutes before their departure time to compensate for any traffic delays.
