Town of Victor looking for your input on Route 96 traffic

Town of Victor

The Route 96 Transformative Corridor Strategic Infrastructure Plan is being developed to identify practical and realistic solutions to traffic congestion along Route 96 in Victor.

The goal of the plan is to make the Route 96 corridor, including Main Street, safer and more efficient for all users of the roadway.

Director of Development for the Town of Victor, Katie Evans, says at any public meeting, the same topic keeps coming up.

"Traffic is always a part of the conversation, so we knew we had to address it."

The busy road is often stacked with cars, causing major delays in the area. So the town is hosting a public forum. No formalities, no presentations, just drivers' opinions.

Evans said this is because if they base their plans moving forward off just traffic data from the area, it will most likely be skewed.

"The close calls don’t get recorded, the accident data gets recorded and fatalities get recorded."

The input workshop will be divided into parts, splitting up the road into sections so people can address specific concerns within the six mile problem area. For example, you can address issues on Main Street Fishers, or the part near Eastview Mall.

Comments are welcome from 6pm -9pm Thursday August 3rd at Victor Town Hall.
