A 95-year old woman suffered a broken ankle when she was hit by a car at the Lilac Festival Saturday night.

Rochester police tell WXXI the unidentified woman from Henrietta was hit by a car driven by 51-year old David Dispirito of Greece.

Police at one of gates to the festival had noticed Dispirito driving erratically and tried to stop him at the entrance to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Highland Park.

That's when they say Dispirito hit the woman as he tried to drive away. Officers say she's in stable condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Dispirito faces DWI, assault and resisting arrest charges, according to Rochester Police Lt. Joseph Hayes.
