Funeral Services Scheduled For Tyler Doohan After Mobile Home Fire

cnn.com/13wham.com

Funeral services have now been set for the nine year old East Rochester boy who died in a mobile home fire in Penfield last week, as well as two of his relatives who also died in the fire.

Calling hours for Tyler Doohan, Stephen Smith and Lewis Beach will be held Monday and Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Anthony Funeral Chapel, 1031 Ridge Road in Webster.

The funeral will be on Wednesday, 10am  at St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport.

Fire officials have said that Tyler had awoken several relatives in the mobile home in Penfield last Monday. Authorities say he died when he went to help his disabled grandfather, 54 year old Stephen Smith, who died in the fire along with 62 year old Lewis Beach, Tyler’s step-great-grandfather.

Six other people in the home survived, but suffered some injuries.

The cause is believed to be accidental, possibly due to an electrical problem, but the fire is still under investigation.

The fire received worldwide attention and also spurred some online fundraising efforts for the family.
