Local Olympian Iris Zimmerman will be inducted into the U.S. Fencing Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Zimmerman was the first American woman to win a medal in foil in the world fencing championships.  She represented the U.S. in the Olympics three times.

Zimmerman says her induction into the Hall of Fame is a nice final touch to her career. "I think as an athlete, I can finally say I've done some great things and be happy about them. Because as an athlete, you're always looking to the next thing and you never really celebrate your wins. This is a win I'm really going to celebrate."

Zimmerman and her sister and fellow Olympian Felicia own and operate the Fencing Club of Rochester. She says they train fencers as young as six-years old and adults into their sixties.
