Not a Shocker: Rochester Fifth Snowiest City.

Carlet Cleare
There's been plenty of snow to throw this year

With just under 73 inches of snowfall this season, Rochester is ranked the fifth snowiest city in America right now, as the Golden Snow Globe and Golden Snowball competitions continue.

Syracuse won both contests last year, but is getting a run for its money this year from Erie, Pennsylvania, which is the big leader so far with 108.5 inches of snow.

Syracuse even trails Buffalo by 11.1 inches in the Golden Snowball competition among New York cities.

The national rankings put Buffalo second, Grand Rapids third, Syracuse fourth and Rochester fifth.

Ann Arbor, Michigan, Detroit, Toledo, Ohio, Flint, Michigan and Billings, Montana round out the top ten.

And there's still plenty of winter left.
