A close Republican Primary race in the 138th Assembly District turned out even closer after the counting of absentee and affidavit ballots on Tuesday.
On primary night, Peter Vazquez led the GOP-party endorsed candidate Bob Zinck by 6 votes.
But after absentee ballots were counted this week, it appears that Zinck has won the race by just three votes.
Vazquez told Time Warner Cable News he was surprised about the results and he and his team are reviewing all their options.
Zinck told TWC News that he is “honored by the support” and looking forward to the campaign in the general election.
He will face Democratic Assemblyman Harry Bronson.
