Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren talked about the many challenges facing the city, but also the many opportunities here during an interview with the online newspaper and blog “HuffingtonPost.com.”
Warren said she’s excited and energized to lead this city, and says Rochester is like a phoenix – it’s rising again.
Warren told the site education was her top priority when she campaigned for mayor, and made the case for charter schools because the city’s educational system is failing our children.
She maintains she’s not giving up on public education, but parents who can’t afford to send their children to private school need an alternative.
Warren also talked about the hiring of her uncle to lead her security detail and other controversial matters in her first two months in office.
