Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-Fairport) and Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks (R-Webster) face-off in our Voice of the Voter debate tonight, starting at 8 p.m.

Here's what you need to know:
The setup: A Siena poll conducted at the end of September showed Slaughter with a 10-point lead over Brooks. Two weeks later, Brooks cut the lead to 5-points, according to the latest Voice of the Voter poll, conducted by Siena.
The candidates: This race is for the newly redrawn 25th Congressional District that covers all of Monroe County, except for the towns of Hamlin, Wheatland, Rush and Mendon.
Incumbent Louise Slaughter is seeking her 13th term in the U.S. House of Representatives. She currently serves the 28th Congressional District.
Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks became the first female to hold the office, and is currently in her third term. Before running for county executive, Brooks was county clerk from 1997 to 2003.

The Format: Each candidate will have two minutes to deliver opening and closing statements. In addition to answering panelist and citizen questions, candidates will participate in rapid response and single candidate question blocks from the moderator. The debate ends at 9 p.m.
