MCC canceling classes for coming week, will transition to distance-learning options
Monroe Community College says that in response to developments involving the COVID-19 outbreak, it is canceling classes Monday-Saturday, March 16-21.
The college will remain open for students who need access to technology and other support services. Faculty and staff are to report to work.
MCC’s dental clinic is also closed to patients next week.
Officials note that there are no cases of COVID-19 at MCC at this time. As previously announced, MCC will transition to distance-learning options, with limited face-to-face instruction for students, while continuing to provide support services until further notice.
A number of area colleges have announced plans to move to online and other alternatives to in-person instruction for at least the next few weeks.
