Debate season has begun, thanks to the GOP's presidential debate(s) in Cleveland last week. Soon enough, we'll be sitting down with candidates for local races, including Monroe County Executive. What do we gain from political debates? Are they essentially pre-rehearsed soundbite parades, or is there still value in the format? And are female reporters treated differently, the way Fox's Megyn Kelly was lectured by Donald Trump last week? Our panel includes veteran reporters and debate moderators:
- David Riley, Democrat & Chronicle
- Adam Chodak, anchor and managing editor, News 8
