Unsettled weather Saturday spawned a weak tornado that briefly touched down in West Seneca. It caused minor damage. It was classified as an EF-O tornado, the weakest classification.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Tony Ansuini says it started out as a water spout on Lake Erie and then moved inland.

"It was a very weak tornado with winds estimated at 65 to 75 miles per hour," Ansuini said. "A very small area of West Seneca had some uprooted trees. There was some damage to the roof of a condominium complex. There were some broken windows and shutters."

Two witnesses on Greenmeadow Drive near Orchard Park Road reported seeing a funnel cloud with swirling debris.

Sunday will be the coldest day so far this fall, with temperatures not expected to get much above 40. Some snow accumulation is possible in the higher elevations of the Southern Tier.
