AMBER Alert canceled after report of infant abducted in Schuyler County

UPDATE: Amber Alert canceled on Thursday night; State Police say the child was located safely.

An AMBER Alert has been activated after a child abduction in Schuyler County.

 

New York State Police say they are looking for an infant who was reportedly taken from a home in Montour Falls around 5 a.m. Thursday. The infant, Gionna Harter, is a black female, approximately 1 month old with short black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 18 inches long and weighs around 9 pounds.

 

Police are also looking for the suspect, Katrina M. Harter, a black female, approximately 31 years old with curly black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5’ 3” tall and weighs around 330 pounds.

 

The suspect was last seen traveling south on North Exchange Street in Geneva. Police believe that the child may be in imminent danger of serious physical injury and/or death.
